New Diamond Club prevailed against tough competitors Western Region Team 3-1 to lift the title in the women’s category of the first National Men’s and Women’s Club League Volleyball Tournament at the Covered Hall of the National Sports Council on Friday.
New Diamond topped the standings with eight points and although Armed Police Force (APF) have a game in hand, they will only secure seven points if they succeed to win. New Diamond’s title hopes looked murky as they lost the first set 23-25. However, staging a stunning comeback they toiled hard to emerge victorious in the next two sets with 25-20,
25-23 and 27-25 points.
